Leguminosae. Zones 9-11. The ferny bipinnate foliage is reason enough to grow this plant outdoors or indoors in a container or as a bonsai. Ball shaped yellow blossoms are extremely fragrant and used as a source of commercial perfume in France. Extremely drought tolerant, yet responds well to moisture. May grow as a dieback shrub in zone 8. Does have thorns, so site away from close traffic and balloons. Seeds are attractive to wildlife. Outdoor height 15 to 25 feet with a symmetrical canopy. Blooms off and on year round.
