VISIT US AT THE NURSERY

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT ANY APPOINTMENTS OR VISITS AT THIS TIME (unless you want to look at the property for potential purchase), AS WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING THE NURSERY TO SW FLORIDA.

You have never been to a nursery like ours! We call it a "Plant Zoo" for good reason. Visit our main greenhouse and wander through the tropical forest indoors. Stroll through the display gardens around the greenhouses and down the hill at our home. Our grounds are planted with perennial gardens from full sun to almost full shade and with dozens of unusual trees and shrubs. Feel free to bring a blanket for a picnic! We are happy to show you around, tell you about our plants, and help you find plants which should grow well for you. Please understand that in the spring and hot days of summer, we are tied up with watering in the mornings and may not be able to accommodate morning appointments. Please also note that we do not have public restroom facilities, so plan accordingly.

DIRECTIONS TO THE NURSERY:

We are located on the west side and about a mile outside the city limits of Staunton, Virginia in Augusta County in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

From downtown Staunton, follow signs for State Route 254 west approximately four (4) miles to Route 612 (Frog Pond Road). Turn right; go about 100 yards to the nursery entrance on the right up a private lane called Grower Lane.

From I-81 (from Richmond, Charlottesville, Northern Virginia, Harrisonburg, Lexington, or Roanoke), take Exit 225 (Woodrow Wilson Parkway)/Route 275), go west approximately five (5) miles until the road ends at State Route 250 The Main Greenhouse(Churchville Avenue). Turn right on Route 250 and go one (1) mile. Turn left on Route 612 (Frog Pond Road). Go approximately three (3) miles to the nursery entrance on the left at a private lane called Grower Lane just before the intersection with Route 254. Note that I-81 Exit 225 is two (2) exits north of the junction of I-81 and I-64 coming from Richmond.

From elsewhere in the world, e-mail or call us for directions if you need to know how to get to I-81 or Staunton.

'I know I dropped my pepper spray in this garden somewhere....'.     Here are a couple of photos of recent visitors to the Zoo.     Discerning customer asks: 'Did you pee on this?'
